The Connecticut Department of Transportation advertises construction projects and answers bidders' questions on its Contracts Q&A site. Our bids page reads the Q&A project list every day.

1. Prequalify with CTDOT

CTDOT says prospective bidders must be prequalified by the department to bid on and receive construction contracts. Applications, annual update certifications and revisions are filed in CTDOT's online system. Subcontractors do not need CTDOT prequalification; only primes bidding directly do.

2. Request the proposal

All prospective bidders must submit a Bid Proposal Request Form (Part C) for review and approval to be eligible to bid on a specific project.

3. DAS prequalification is separate
